The dependency test
Entitlement to an allowance and its rates are determined according to the extent of the insured's dependence on the help of others in day-to-day activities, which are: mobility inside the house, bathing, dressing, eating and personal hygiene, as well as according to the need for supervision to prevent danger to him or others.
Entitlement to the allowance and its rates are also checked according to the need for household help: food preparation, operating electrical appliances, house maintenance, medication, shopping and institutional and financial arrangements.
Important Information:
The test refers to limitations arising from the medical impairment only, and not for other reasons (such as cultural norms, habit, etc.).
The basis for determining eligibility is the person's dependence on the help of others in performing day-to-day activities. Those who do not need assistance in these operations will not be entitled to an allowance.
